Reporting to the Engine Center Technical Service Associate Director, you will lead a team of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineers and technicians accountable for managing various projects and providing technical support for our test facilities. You will collaborate closely with the development engineering and the production team to ensure our test operations are sustained and reliable. In this role youll be part of our test facilities transformation for the introduction of new products and for validation and testing of new technologies and designs.
You will support your team in projects execution and delivery, ensuring they meet customer requirements, timeline and budgets. You will also ensure the instrumentation of our test cells and rigs always meets our quality standards. You will foster a positive and effective work environment, focused on customer, collaboration and teamwork. You will also leverage and build partnerships with our Test Facilities team based in Longueuil.
The position is based at our Mississauga location, from Monday to Friday, 38.75 hours per week and exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
In collaboration with the development engineering team, define the vision and long-term strategy for our test facilities in plant 22:
Lead and grow a team of engineers and technicians responsible for providing support and delivering projects to ensure the reliability and availability of our test facilities.
Support the team in establishing priorities and timelines that are aligned with development and production requirements.
Ensure projects are on track by leveraging efficient review with project managers and supporting the team in addressing roadblocks when required.
Build relationships with all functions across test facilities, development engineering and production teams to enable collaboration and teamwork.
Drive and own business financial results and establish mitigation and corrective action plans when required.
Promote a culture of excellence in E&HS and Quality.
What do you need to be successful?
Technical degree in aeronautics, mechanical or electrical with 20 years of relevant experience, engineering bachelor’s degree with 15 years of experience, or engineering master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
Relevant experience in test facilities, test cells systems, test rigs, data acquisitions systems and instrumentation.
Proven capacity managing complex projects, with dispersed multi-disciplinary team.
Management experience or demonstrated capacity of influential leadership.
Capacity to manage business or projects in an uncertain and changing environment.
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
