Job Description:
The candidate will be working primarily on the IOMAX ISR Border Patrol Aircraft programs. The job will involve design, drafting, analysis and troubleshooting of a wide variety of systems and components. The engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary project team, including
manufacturing personnel. Experience with aircraft certification (STC, TC, ATC, etc) desired.
 
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design mechanical and electromechanical parts and systems from conception through production
  • Work with electrical engineer to produce electromechanical layouts, structures, enclosures, cable routing.
  • Work with production team to ensure designs are producible and efficient
  • Use tools to analyze aircraft systems for materials, stress, thermodynamics, heat transfer and mechanics.  
  • Produce preliminary design concepts for vendors and work with vendors to get products developed and produced.
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information independently and recommending corrective action(s).Identify and recommend opportunities to reduce costs, weight and improve efficiency. Other related duties as may be assigned
Job Requirements:
  • B.S. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree from an accredited college, MS Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree preferred.
  • 8+ years working in the aerospace industry as a mechanical designer
  • Knowledge of mechanical/structural engineering analysis, mechanical design, design for manufacturing, integration and test.
  • Extensive experience with Solidworks required.
  • Experience with Solidworks ePDM desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Matlab, and FEA (ANSYS) desired.
  • Willing and able to work on and around aircraft.
  • Good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently Excellent communications skills; written and verbal
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work from a variety of input sources.
  • Good presentation skills
  • Detail oriented
