JOB SUMMARY:
The work content includes but is not limited to: receiving and verifying material, final order confirmations, goods issue of material, movement of parts within or between departments, unloading materials from trucks arriving at the receiving docks, material presentation, and communication with other internal organizations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Assist supervisor with required personnel training.
II. Responsible for organizing and presenting work/materials/tools to meet production and assembly schedules.
III. Works from routing sheets, kit lists, material requisitions, dispatch reports, computer generated shortage reports, SAP manifest lists, and oral and written instructions to perform duties necessary to maintain adequate levels of materials, tools, parts, kits and assemblies. Locates moves, delivers or reports status of required parts and assemblies for various production areas.
IV. Reviews material locations.
V. Requires regular contacts within production control, various production departments, supply chain, material stores, manufacturing engineering, etc.
VI. Assists with material reservations for bulk material and ordering replacement parts as required.
VII. Assists with out-time tracking and batch management for all applicable materials on shop floor and on kits that have been started. Prepares necessary samples for shelf life maintenance.
VIII. Assists the department scheduler or leadership in analyzing shortage information, obtain order ECD information from operations when needed, and assist with understanding impact.
IX. When necessary coordinate with Material Requirements Planner on the release of orders and/or order splits.
X. Provide daily metrics for build schedules to each assigned area to meet production schedule needs. Participate in Andon walks as required and research all issues to ensure that discrepancies are corrected.
XI. Assure proper receipt of items defined by Purchase Order agreements and order confirmations in SAP.
XII. Coordinates receiving activities with other interacting departments as required assuring proper receipt action and conformance to procedural requirements.
XIII. Unpackage received articles and verifies article is listed correctly on accompanying paperwork, and the article(s) matches the packing sheet description.
XIV. Uses some judgment in inspecting the received articles for damage. Re-packages as required for movement to the next receiving position.
XV. Moves the article to the next operation in accordance with the receiving report, router slip, or other accompanying paperwork.
XVI. Operates all applicable material handling equipment and some measuring devices as required to verify receipts are as listed on the packing sheet.
XVII. Perform duties within packing, crating, shipping and prepare the necessary shipping documents, as required.
XVIII. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
XIX. Responsible for the quality of own work.
XX. Performs other related duties as required.
