Bell in Fort Worth, TX has several immediate need openings for experienced Supply Chain Procurement Contracts Professionals with USG Military/Defense Contracting experience to support our Advanced Vertical Lift Systems (AVLS) programs. These roles support Aircraft New Product Development Programs.

In this role, you are responsible for establishing optimal long-term and high-dollar procurement contracts that enables the Supply Chain Organization and Advanced Vertical Lift to achieve its strategic objectives. This Contracting Professional works directly with the Integrated Products Team Lead and Program Team to identify and contract with the appropriate sources for new and existing aircraft subsystems.  You will either be supporting our Bell V-280 Valor or Bell 360 Invictus programs to help secure Bell’s future for the United States Army’s Future Vertical Lift program.

Primary activities of the Contracting Professional include: 


  • Evaluating new, current and existing suppliers for fit with strategic purchasing contracts, preparing and issuing requests for proposal (RFPs).

  • Facilitating the bid evaluation and down-selection process. 

  • Prepares negotiation strategies and conducts contract negotiations, employing cost scenario models, contracting strategy techniques, and negotiation support tools to advance the commodity’s key supply chain objectives, and finalizes contract awards.

  • In all activities, the Contracting Specialist ensures compliance with all government contracting regulations and internal administrative requirements.

  • High degree of relationship building and integration with integrated product teams in a development environment.


Job Requirements:

Education Requirements:


  • 4-Yr Degree (BS/BA in Supply Chain Mgmt., Business Administration, Industrial Technology/Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting) OR Will consider a minimum of 5 years of work experience in strategic sourcing strategy and techniques, financial analysis, cost analysis of commodity, Raw Materials, etc. in additional experience.

    • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: a Master’s degree and minimum of 2 years in procurement contracts would be considered equivalent.    



Position Requirements:



  • At least 3 years relevant professional experience with DOD / USG Procurement Contracts for military / defense industry strategic sourcing OR in lieu: at least 3 years (prefer at least 5 years) in negotiating manufacturing procurement contracts supporting New Product Development and /or Prototyping supplier and source selection.    



  • Must have solid experience with procurement contracts strategies and techniques, financial analysis, cost analysis of commodity, cost of Raw Materials, cost of service, etc.



  • Strong negotiating skills.



  • Experience and understanding of direct/indirect commodity pricing.



  • Candidate will be required to have strong computer and solid analytical skills in MS Excel.



  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.



  • History of building collaborative relationships with vendors and internally across Bell’s engineering, manufacturing, shop floor, finance, and military program teams.



  • Strong business acumen.



  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity.



  • Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time (domestic and international).


Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Green Belt Six Sigma certification  



  • Experience applying Six Sigma / Lean Principles / Tools



  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Supplier and Commodity Mgmt., supplier relationships, Contracts, Supply Chain Management



  • Supplier Development and total cost of ownership



  • Analytical experience in a commodity



  • SCM new product development experience
