JOB SUMMARY: This position works as part of the Grant Aviation Maintenance team to ensure that our fleet is safe and runs efficiently. Licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic performs maintenance, inspections and repairs on assigned aircraft for which the mechanic is assigned and qualified. Our A&P Mechanics are responsible for positive customer interactions as a representative of the company in the communities we serve throughout Alaska: Bethel, Emmonak, Dillingham, King Salmon, Cold Bay, Dutch Harbor, Kenai and Anchorage, working on a rotating shift schedule, i.e. two (2) weeks-on two (2) weeks-off.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
The A&P Mechanic reports to the Lead Mechanic.
Approves aircraft for return to service after scheduled or unscheduled maintenance for which he is authorized and qualified.
Keeps own work areas clean. Returns equipment and tools checked out at end of work shift and repositioned in assigned area.
Reports all inoperative or faulty equipment to the maintenance supervisor in charge.
Completes all paperwork for maintenance that is performed.
Ensures that hangar workshops, and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner.
Assists the Maintenance Controller in maintaining technical manuals in a current status.
Maintains adequate general hand tools to properly perform his duties in accordance with FAR 43.13 appendix D.
Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of Grant Operations Manual.
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations.
Knowledge of Operations Specifications.
Knowledge of Flight Manuals and other instructions pertinent to assigned duties.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory Must have a valid drivers license. Must have experience in performing maintenance on one or more of the following planes: C207, GA8, C208, PA31 and BE200.
Supervisory No supervisory experience required.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
FAA Inspection Authorization is desired.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift approximately 70 pounds.
