Job Description:
The Aircraft Maintenance Technicians at Aerowood Service Center are responsible for maintaining safety and efficient work by FAA regulations on aircraft for various departments, including but not limited to the flight school fleet, managed customers, charter aircraft, and clients outside of normal operations. They will be held accountable for ensuring each aircraft is properly repaired (airworthy to leave maintenance) and ready for clients before releasing from the maintenance hangar. Additionally, they will sign off on individual aircraft through logbook entries, assist coworkers with appropriate projects when needed, and maintain a productive and professional work environment.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform all areas of aircraft repairs and alterations to aircraft per FAA standards.
  • Performs assembly, disassembly, service, and repairs required in the completion of aircraft annuals/100hr inspections on various aircraft associated with Aerowood Aviation.
  • Execute aircraft and aviation maintenance as per timelines established by the Director of Operations through coordination and scheduling of assignments/work orders.
  • Adhere to established operating procedures.
  • Will work with specialized tooling and instruments designed specifically for aircraft maintenance.
  • Be held accountable for aircraft maintenance through logbook entry signatures.
  • Accesses company intranet and/or the internet to become familiar with and utilize the GMM and aircraft manuals. Ensures part effectiveness is correct per aircraft.
  • Adhere to MSDS precautions as well as company and federal safety requirements.
  • Performs maintenance mechanic duties in all areas inside and outside the hangar.
  • Completes company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including maintenance computer system transactions.
  • Keep maintenance and repair logs in order.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Evaluate the area and equipment to ensure safety before performing any maintenance action. Apply safety first at all times.
  • Updates Supervisor on progress of work performed. Reviews paperwork at the end of shift to ensure that all work accomplished is signed for before departing the maintenance facility.
  • Assist coworkers when appropriate to do so to maintain a productive, clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Overtime may be available and occasionally required.
Job Requirements:
  • A&P Certification.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
  • Must be 18 or older with High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Salary will be determined based upon years of experience or an Inspection Authorization Certificate.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Will be required to pass a DOT required drug, alcohol, and background check prior to employment and randomly after employment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Basic hand tools required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Takes initiative.
Physical Demands:
  • Able to stand and work at least 90% of the time.
  • Able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to see to perform work and to see approaching vehicles, aircraft, and machinery.
Work Environment:
  • Work near moving mechanical parts, work with fumes or airborne particles over 90% of the time.
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions inside and outside an open-air hangar.
  • Must be able to work in a high noise environment.
  • Able to wear a respirator and protective equipment for testing and regular duties. This includes minimal facial hair in order to ensure proper fit of respirator in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel is rare but may be required and could include overnight stays.
