Job Description:
Job Summary: Fabricate, repair, replace, or rebuild of aircraft structural components such as (Thrust Reversers, Flaps, Inlet Cowls, and other structural aircraft components). Repair parts with sheet metal hand tools, and composite materials and tooling. Be able to use other machinery such as a shear, sheet metal brake, drill press, etc. Conform to company policies, procedures, requirements, and specifications established by AerSale, applicable government agencies, and aircraft manufactures as contained in approved Maintenance Manuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accomplish all aspects of aircraft sheet metal and composite repairs in accordance with the OEM’s maintenance manuals, company process specifications and FAA/EASA publications and regulations.
Able to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures.
Perform wet layup using various epoxy resins and fiber fabrics.
Mixing of epoxy resins in appropriate ratios, vacuum bagging and curing procedures.
Must be efficient in the use and application of tools, gauges, instruments, etc. necessary for the accomplishment of duties assigned.
Must have an understanding and working knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal as related to the job assignment.
Must have minimum required sheet metal tools.
Be able to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and Maintenance Manuals in performance of assigned duties.
Performs minor touch up painting as needed (within task area).
Keep a clean & orderly work environment.
Education and Experience:
High school education or G.E.D. preferred.
4-6 years composite experience.
May or may not have an A&P license
Skills and Abilities:
Attention to detail is imperative.
Positive attitude and willingness to cooperate with others.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work products.
Physical Requirements:
Exposed to high levels of noise, dust, and environmental temperature.
Able to lift fifty (50) pounds without mechanical assistance.
Able to bend, twist, squat, and lift.
