Summary:
Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components
Rig control cables, linkages, landing gear, engines, cowls, aircraft doors, and related hardware
Remove and replace system components, cut and fit lines and hardware to support repairs
Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations; perform rework as needed for conformity
Install system lines, valves, ducts, and associated components to ensure leak-free functionality
Use various tools including permaswage pumps, line cutters, wrenches, gauges, etc. to complete installations
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural issues to support basic repairs
Update and sign logs and records as required
Inspect own work and may check work of junior mechanics for defect-free installations
Maintain a clean and organized workspace; support FOD control and 5S programs
Demonstrate manufacturing competencies as part of the employee effectiveness review
Maintain required documentation (MIR sheets, DMTs, CRABs, PCOs, etc.)
Support continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
May support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
3 years of aerospace/aviation experience, or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment)
A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred
Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Skilled in close-tolerance work including drilling, reaming, and ship fitting
Ability to use special tools and operate hydraulic mule pumps and fixtures
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
