Job Description:

Aircraft Issuer III. Issue aircraft to Squadron Flight Duty Officer(s) in accordance with prescribed instructions. Verify required maintenance has been documented and release aircraft, ‘safe for flight.

Accountability

  • Perform all work-related actions as directed by management.

  • Follow instructions by work center shift lead or above.

  • Ensure safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.

  • Address/approach customer in courteous and professional manner.

  • Address/approach co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Maintain work center in a clean and orderly fashion. 

  • Meet government and company license and/or qualification requirement(s).

  • Complete and comply with On the Job Training (OJT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste (HW), Tool Control Program (TCP) and Egress Familiarization, Program and all safety regulations by site, city, state and federal.

  • Operate two-way communication equipment to coordinate flight-line operations.

  • Provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to maintenance control clerk(s).

  • Perform duties and responsibilities of the Data Entry Clerk.

  • Obtain qualification to Release aircraft "Safe for Flight" within thirty (30) days of start date and maintain qualification while assigned as an Aircraft Issuer.

  • Designate and issue aircraft that meet mission requirements for scheduled instructor pilots and students.

  • Direct pilot-reported discrepancies to appropriate maintenance personnel.

  • Assist student and instructor pilots in completion of required maintenance forms.

  • Maintain and review aircraft discrepancy book(s) (ADB) for accuracy.

  • Coordinate special/cross country flights with squadron flight duty officer.

  • Track flights, fuel, aborts, trouble calls, oxygen servicing, spot numbers, turn around inspections, oil log, etc.

  • Track aircraft high time components, phase inspection and oil sampling. Initiate Maintenance Action Form (MAF) as necessary.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, required.

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in military or civilian aviation maintenance control.

  • Completion of U.S. Armed Forces aviation maintenance control courses, equivalent curriculum or three (3) year of on the job training.

  • Thorough working knowledge of maintenance control procedures.

  • Coordinate aircraft maintenance.

  • Able to operate two-way communication equipment and speak in a clear and concise manner.

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance records and forms.

  • Working knowledge of T-44/T54 aircraft preferred.

  • Knowledge of computer database input and type a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute.

  • Working knowledge of applicable maintenance and technical manuals and publications.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Administrative duties that may require occasionally to kneel, stand, stoop and bend.

  • Lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

  • Extended periods of sitting.

  • Office environment (within aircraft hangar).

  • Shift work.

  • Exposure to noise hazard.

  • Prolonged periods of keyboard input.   

Travel

  • As required for periods up to, or past 90 days.
