JOB SUMMARY:

AIRCRAFT MECHANIC HIGHLIGHTS:

Job Requirements:
AIRCRAFT MECHANIC ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, assembly, testing, and calibration of aircraft component and company special tools and ground equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance manual, company policies and procedures, and FAA regulations
  • Research technical data
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures – i.e. wings and fuselage – and functional components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulic units
  • Read and interpret manufacturer’s and airlines’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Complete appropriate identification, routing tags, forms, and make appropriate entries into the Component Removal Log upon removing units from an aircraft, engine, or other major component or subassembly
  • Inspect turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks
  • Repair/Replace defective engine parts
  • Reassemble and install engines into aircraft
  • Adjust, repair, and/or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories
  • Perform maintenance work such as repair and maintenance of company equipment and shop housecleaning
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor
AIRCRAFT MECHANIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, balance, and reach above shoulder level
  • Must be willing to participate in, support, and follow safety initiatives, safe work practices, and SMS compliance
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse setting
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Must be able to work any shift and willing to work overtime when required
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen, background check, and be in compliance with all FAA rules and regulations
AIRCRAFT MECHANIC EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A&P license preferred
AIRCRAFT MECHANIC EXPERIENCE:
  • B757 experience, preferably tear down or reclamation
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance preferred
  • A&P License preferred
