Role Summary
* In this role, you will apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and test F-15 avionics systems, including Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, and Electronic Warfare systems. You will perform bench and flight line testing, lead and mentor less senior technicians, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards while supporting mission requirements. Education & Job Requirements
* Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
* Must have experience with the F-15 or other fighter platforms.
* Must have experience with Aircraft Avionics Systems such as Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, and Electronic Warfare.
* Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
* Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office software. Preferred Skills
* Will have experience with Fighter Platforms.
* Will have experience with EPAWSS Modification.
* Will have experience working with COMSEC, Radar, or Electronic Warfare Systems. Job Duties/Functions
* Will apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems that cannot be solved solely by referencing manuals or documents.
* Will perform circuit analyses, calculate waveforms, and trace signal flow using complex test instruments such as high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer control equipment.
* Will perform aircraft bench and/or flight line operational testing and troubleshooting in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives.
* Will perform assembly, installation, check-out, operational testing, and modification of wire bundles in aircraft development and modification activities.
* Will consult with management and peers to determine the best work processes.
* Will assist and train less senior employees, and may lead teams through complex tasks.
* Will prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
* Will perform all duties of lower Avionics classifications as needed.
* Will interpret work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and job layouts to accomplish assignments.
* Will ensure all equipment is used safely and in accordance with operating procedures.
* Will diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.
* Will use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to check dimensions and quality compliance.
* Will maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required.
* Will assist other team members, including General Mechanics, Structures, and Electrics, to meet cost and schedule targets.
* Will work 100 onsite in San Antonio, TX, including various shifts, alternate baseline schedules, weekends, holidays, and potential scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
* Will adhere to Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems to ensure a safe working environment. Physical Requirements
* Must be physically capable of working in a factory production environment, including sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stair climbing, gripping, squeezing, and operating hand and power tools.
* Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in elevated and/or confined spaces as required.
* Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; occasional 2-person lifts may be necessary for weights over 35 lbs.
* Must be able to grip, squeeze, bend, twist at the waist, crawl, crouch, reach, climb/balance, flex/extend, rotate head/neck, sit, lie down, and operate foot controls.
* Must handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
* Will have occasional contact with sealants, metals, and plastics, and be exposed to solvents, noise, elevated platforms, and atmospheric conditions.
* Will frequently perform reaching overhead (3–6 hrs), walking on flat surfaces, standing on flat or uneven surfaces, and balancing on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces.
* Will occasionally climb 3–12 ft ladders or stands and perform fine finger manipulation (1–3 hrs).
