Aircraft Mechanic
Location: Des Moines, IA
Pay Range: $30 - $45/HR, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and performing other tasks related to the maintenance and repair of airframe and engine systems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs inspections, servicing, and complex repairs on various aircraft systems and components.
- Efficiently and effectively troubleshoots and function tests systems, referencing manufacturer’s technical documents across a variety of airframe, engine, and component systems.
- Leads aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor.
- Expertly prepares and completes various documents for maintenance and modification record-keeping purposes, as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, and personal training logs (OJT).
- Proficiently and consistently locates and uses the appropriate technical data to accomplish all tasks.
- May require travel up to 20 of the time to other Elliott Aviation locations as needed.
- Supports, maintains, and complies with all Federal, OSHA, State, and local regulations, as well as Elliott Aviation’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes.
- Performs related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
- High school graduate or equivalency degree required.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, 145.
- Ability to attain & retain Airport Operations Area (AOA) badge or other airport requirements.
- Must obtain & retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue stamp).
- Must possess excellent mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to work.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Willingness to work collaboratively on a team, including mentoring junior technicians with a calm demeanor.
- Willingness to learn by taking guidance from others.
- Ability to communicate effectively in straightforward situations.
- 5+ years of Aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
