Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. This position operates within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station and will support structural repairs and modifications on both helicopters and fixed-wing general aviation aircraft.
The ideal candidate has strong aircraft structures experience, the ability to interpret technical data, and hands-on expertise performing structural repairs in a hangar environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform sheet metal repairs and structural modifications on rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft

Fabricate, lay out, assemble, and install aircraft structural components

Repair or replace skins, ribs, stringers, bulkheads, floor structures, and other structural components

Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting, and fastening operations

Work with aluminum, stainless steel, and composite materials

Read and interpret blueprints, SRMs, maintenance manuals, and engineering drawings

Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and company quality standards

Complete accurate documentation and work orders per FAA Part 145 requirements

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Support inspection findings and structural discrepancy repairs
Required Qualifications
-
Experience performing aircraft sheet metal / structures repairs
-
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings
-
Experience using rivet guns, drills, forming tools, and other sheet metal equipment

Strong knowledge of aircraft structural repair techniques
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying shop conditions

High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working on helicopters (Bell, Robinson, Airbus, etc.)

Experience working on General Aviation aircraft (Cessna, Beechcraft, Hawker, etc.)

Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station

A&P License preferred but not required
-
Experience with composite repairs
Work Environment

Hangar-based FAA 145 repair facility

Combination of helicopter and fixed-wing general aviation projects

Overtime may be required based on workload and aircraft delivery schedules
