Job Description

We are seeking an Aircraft Structural Technician to join our team working on an exciting aircraft conversion program and modifications. The primary focus will be on the Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting. Your role will involve basic structural work, including repairing and maintaining tears or cracks in the structural body, corrosion repair, riveting, and component overhauls.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs and modifications on Q400 aircraft.
• Work on the assembly line assembling tanks and engaging in repetitive tasks.
• Execute airframe major mods, tank installations, and provisions for fairings.
• Remove interiors and conduct day-to-day modifications.
• Participate in weight reduction tasks on wing modifications in the conversion department.
• Collaborate with a team and report to team leaders and managers.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years experience in aircraft structural work.
• Experience with Q400 aircraft.
• Experience in manufacturing and aircraft modification.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM drawings and Service Bulletins/EOs.
• 2-3 years of MRO experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Dash 8 Q400, 737, or helicopters is a plus.
• Manufacturing experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attitude and strong work ethic.

Work Environment

The team consists of 27 people, working closely with team leads and managers to ensure aircraft functionality. Bring basic tooling with you to the job. The team primarily consists of 13 people. The initial contract is for a minimum of 3 months, with some members having been with the company for up to 10 years. The typical shift is Monday to Friday, with 10-hour days, although shifts may occasionally be 8 hours. Working hours are from 6:00 am to 4:15 pm, with occasional overtime on Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.50 - $58.00/hr.
