This positions functions much like a crew chief in the ownership of the aircraft.
Actively participate in the Aviation Department Safety Management System.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and return to service Milliken aircraft using standards, methods, and procedures per all applicable FAA CFRs and manufacturer recommendations.
Complete proper inspection records, reports, and forms required by the FAA CFRs or manufacturer recommendations.
Ensures proper sign-offs of all aircraft flight logs upon completion of work performed, including compliance with FAA CFR Part 43.9 and Part 43.11, proper filling out of parts tags, and proper procedures for placard issuance and removal.
Perform maintenance post and pre-flights and assist in cleaning.
When required, locate and order parts at the best price within the time frame constraints.
Load aircraft software, update aircraft databases and interrogate aircraft systems for troubleshooting.
Travel with the aircraft to Supervise and monitor outside aircraft maintenance and inspections.
Perform aircraft towing as required for dispatch and recovery of trips and maintenance ground runs.
Maintain all associated aircraft tooling and equipment.
Maintain aircraft spare parts inventory.
Attend annual aircraft technical training, non-technical training, conferences, etc. Travel required.
Assist the Aviation Director of Maintenance with ancillary duties that include, but are not limited to: projects, facility and equipment maintenance, and studies as assigned.
