Job Description: This occupation includes jobs involved in disassembling, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, examining, fitting, modifying, maintaining, installing, and determining serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti-G-suits. The work includes operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons. The work requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems. In addition, the work requires familiarity with aircraft assigned to the unit, detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment, and the ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.
Experience Requirements: The Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician II shall have a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience with H-60 aircraft survival and flight equipment, and the ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment per 4790.2C, 18.104.22.168.
O-level activities supported by contract maintenance shall use only qualified, certified civilian personnel to perform O-level maintenance on ALSS or egress system maintenance.
a. For Work Center 13A, only personnel who are graduates of Navy PR or equivalent Air Force or Army military occupational specialty (MOS) course shall be allowed to perform ALSS system maintenance.
b. For Work Center 13B, only personnel who are graduates of Navy AME "A" School and CNATTU for specific T/M/S or T/M/S factory equivalent training course shall be allowed to perform egress system maintenance.
c. For contract maintenance personnel to be designated as a QA Inspector on ALSS or egress equipment, a documented working history with ALSS or egress equipment is required (as applicable to work performed).
General Job Description: STi will be conducting maintenance functions of the Line, Corrosion Control, Tool Room, Logs and Records, ALSS, and Aircraft Organizational Level maintenance of H-60 aircraft and associated equipment for the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Eighty Five (HSC-85) and associated Logs and Records support at Maritime Support Wing (MSW) Headquarters (HQ) located at NAS North Island, San Diego, CA.
Clearance Requirements: Secret Clearance

Hourly Rate: $30.25
Additional Rate: $4.54 per hour for Health and Welfare. Wealth and Welfare rate can be utilized for any benefits such as: medical, dental, vision, etc. and whatever is leftover will roll into a 401k for yourself.

Contract Duration: This is a long standing contract that STi has recently been awarded. The contract with STi has a duration of 2.5 years, at which time the contract will be re-competed. STi and other vendors will bid at that time, and if in the event STi does not win the resulting contract, personnel on site have first right of refusal on a job offer from the incoming contractor. It is a long term position in that regard as personnel will just change their badging to the new company that takes over, but all positions will remain.
