Job Description:
Swamp Fox Avionics, LLC is looking for a General Avionics Technician to support aircraft maintenance and modification projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a growing company. Swamp Fox Avionics is always interested in talking with experienced Avionics Installers familiar with Garmin, Stratus, TruTrak, and Avidyne products.  Candidates for employment must have a strong knowledge of aircraft electrical / avionics systems on a wide variety of general aviation aircraft; must be self-motivated, safety conscious, and detail oriented; should be proficient in troubleshooting aircraft electrical / avionics systems, reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, system schematics, and at utilizing aircraft manuals
 
Duties:
 
 Primary Responsibilities:

Perform installation activities autonomously to include:
              o Harness routing and securing
              o Wire preparation and termination
              o Single conductor, multi-conductor and coaxial cable termination
              o Continuity checks of all installed wiring
              o Power checks of all installed wiring
              o Functional tests of installed and interfaced equipment
              o Structural installations of antenna, equipment racks, and other support structure
 
Aircraft electrical/avionics installations on General Aviation (Cessna, Pipers, Cherokee, Mooney, Bonanza) customer aircraft.
 
Work with the team to install, modify and repair aircraft wiring and avionics equipment using hand tools and test equipment.
  
Perform installation and troubleshooting of various aircraft electrical/avionics systems to include control, power, video, electrical harnesses, and engine monitoring systems.
 
Remove and/or replace installed components and any related parts.
 
Flight line support. Be safety conscious; employ the use of safety glasses, safety harnesses, respirators, boots, and other PPE.Maintain clean, neat organized and FOD free work area.
 
 Full time or part time.   
 
 
Job Requirements:
·High School/ GED
 
·Desired: FCC License and A&P
 
1 year actual and recent repair station aircraft avionics experience is desired, (repair of
electrical systems, flight control systems, instrumentation and wiring);
proficiency with: interpretation of avionic/electrical wiring diagrams, wire
identification, harness fabrication, cables, fittings, circuits and connectors.
 
Desired: Prior experience in a aircraft repair facility and General Aviation installations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 
·Assignments require Comprehensive Knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within their
Technical Area
 
·Troubleshooting —determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
·Installation —Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
·Repairing — Repairing avionics systems using the needed tools.
·Equipment Selection —determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
·Equipment Maintenance — performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what
kind of maintenance is needed.
 
·Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs and maintenance.
 
·Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures
 
·Ability to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA approved work package instructions; ability
to inspect and install parts/components.
 
·Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including,
OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations. ·As required by the
position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR
1910.134 "Respirator Protection" regulations with no restrictions
that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.
 
·Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
