Job Description:

Central Copters Inc. is an FAA approved Air Carrier (FAR Part 135), Certified External Load Operator (FAR Part 133) and contracted with the USFS for Wildland Fire Fighting Suppression.

We are accepting resumes from self-motivated, experienced individuals for a long term, full-time position as a UH-60 Avionics/ Electrical/ Wiring Specialist. Individuals selected for consideration will either already have their Airframe and Powerplant License OR be willing and able to get an Airframe and Powerplant License as a condition of continued employment with Central Copters Inc.  You must have FAA Form 8610-2's signed from your local FAA FSDO prior to employment.

Successful applicants will be expected to travel and maintain our fleet of aircraft in the field during fire season and work in our well-equipped hangar during the off-season when operations are required. Relocation is not required.

Electrician/ A&P Mechanic duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Troubleshoot avionics/electrical and mechanical issues as required
  • Program radios
  • Install Mechanical and Electrical Modifications as required
  • Service, inspect and maintain aircraft, aircraft engines, and associated components
  • Preform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as necessary
  • Maintain Aircraft Fire Suppression equipment
  • Maintain GSE Equipment
Job Requirements:
  • Prefer thorough working knowledge of H-60 or similar electrical/avionic systems
  • Must be proficient with the use of tooling and equipment required for performing maintenance tasks on the H-60 platform
  • Prefer current FAA A&P License with a minimum of 24 months maintaining H-60 helicopters as a Licensed A&P Mechanic OR be willing and able to obtain an Airframe and Powerplant License as a condition of continued employment. 
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to obtain a Class A CDL Hazmat at company expense if required.
  • Pass a Pre-Employment drug test as well as random testing
  • Self-Motivated Leader with detail-oriented qualities
  • Be able to perform lifting capabilities 75lbs, bend, stoop, squat, walk, stand, kneel, crunch, crawl, and reach as required
  • Must be willing to work overtime as maintenance and schedule dictates
  • Must be able to work in harsh environments and climates 
  • Must be able to work well with fellow maintainers, pilots, office personnel and management

Compensation:

  • Competitive Starting Wage, scheduled overtime every on shift rotation
  • 2 Week on 2 Week of rotation +/- 2 days is typical year round
  • Paid 40hrs straight time per week during at home rotations.
