Job Description:

The Chief Inspector role holds a pivotal role in the success of our aviation company. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing various operational aspects, ensuring compliance with Federal Regulations and company policies. As the Chief Inspector, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the functions assigned in the performance of aircraft quality control inspection to ensure airworthiness of aircraft.

The Chief Inspector is a non-flying position.

Job Requirements:
  • Quality Control: Manages and coordinates functions of the Quality Control Department including aircraft inspection,
  • Inspection: Ensures that all inspections are properly performed as described in the RSM/QCM and applicable technical data. Ensures proper inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to the release of the product for return to service.
  • Personnel: Ensures inspection personnel are proficient and authorized to approve articles
  • Research: Researches items that are past due calibration to determine actual status (e.g. lost tool, out for repair, etc.) and ensures all past due equipment is returned to the calibration laboratory.
  • Objectives: Develops operating objectives and staffing requirements.
  • Training and Development: Ensures that training and development needs are identified, and programs initiated with appropriate personnel appointed to conduct training and orientation

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in transport category aircraft inspection management preferred.
  • Certificates/Licenses: FAA A&P Certificate required.
  • Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines
  • Excellent leadership, two-way communication, judgement, creativity,
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate
  • Basic computer skills in general office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation management or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Training certificates for General Familiarization and/or Systems Training in much of the transport category aircraft maintained by the repair station such as Boeing 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777; Airbus A320 series, A330; McDonnell Douglas DC-9, DC-10, MD11, MD80/90.
