Composite Technician
 
 Composite technicians use innovative products, such as graphite, carbon fibor, fiberglass, or kevlar, to create or repair parts and components in the Aviation Industry. They must be able to modify glass, carbon, and other fibers and interpret engineering drawings and lamination schedules, and also mark dimensions and reference lines on material, develop trace patterns, and use relevant templates.

Composite technicians may use power tools and composite filament winding machinery and must read blueprints and sketches to apply resin. They may also cut and sand using industrial tools and must track, record, and document the work, materials, and products. They also fabricate and prepare molds and lay out composite materials for molding.

These technicians must be able to work with mechanical machinery, and communication skills are important in this position to explain processes to employees and work well in a team environment with other technicians. The ability to work independently is also important, and they may wear protective gear such as steel-toed boots and goggles.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and prior experience in manufacturing is highly beneficial.   
 
Composite Technician Tasks
Assemble, fabricate and repair products from composite parts and materials.Track, record and document work, materials, and products.Fabricate and prepare molds.Lay out composite materials for molding.
 
 REQUIREMENTS:
·Previous experience in a manufacturing and repair environment
·Valid Driver’s License required
·Must be willing to work any shift including unscheduled overtime, nonscheduled work days and
holidays as needed
 
MISCELLANEOUS:
·MUST be able to pass a 10 year federal background check in order to obtain an airport security badge
