Job Description:
HQ Aero is currently recruiting for an experienced Designated Inspector in Middletown, DE.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all quality control inspections on aircraft in the Repair Station.
  • Completes inspections of aircraft repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data.
  • Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.
  • Keeps accurate, neat, and legible records of the work performed on aircraft.
  • Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.
  • Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.
  • Ensures aircraft is airworthy prior to any flight activities.
  • Accomplish research of Aircraft Log Books and or computer maintenance programs to identify ongoing inspection programs, status of aircraft within those programs, Airworthiness Directive status, and Service Bulletin status.
  • Continually monitor repair station compliance with FAR Part 145 and the FAA accepted site Repair Station and Quality Control Manual. 
  • Assist leads and supervisors in training of Airworthiness Inspectors.
  • Works with and instructs subordinate mechanics/technicians in troubleshooting and operational/functional procedures.
  • Signs FAA 8130-9 Statement of conformity on projects completed on his/her aircraft.
  • Provide training to less experienced Airworthiness Inspectors. 
  • Promote high standards of quality through instruction and by setting the example.
  • May perform DAS and/or ODAR functions as assigned.
  • Operates in compliance with company safety practices.
  • Proficiency in use of quality management system in Q-Pulse software.
Job Requirements:
  • Current A&P License is required. IA certification is preferred. 
  • Rotorcraft experience is required. Fixed wing experience is preferred.
  • Five years aircraft inspection experience required.
  • HS/GED Education is required. Technical education preferred. 
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, use/interpretation of maintenance manuals, test specs and other related documentation required. 
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills required.
  • Ability to work closely with technical personnel and facilitate difficult conversations with the goal of solving the issue. 
  • Strong written/verbal (including technical) communication skills prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in the utilization of Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA forms and documents.
  • Criminal Background Check required. 
  • Compliant to FAA Drug and Alcohol screening and background checks mandatory.
