Electronic Technician Infrastructure Maintenance

Boeing Commercial Airlines is excited to offer opportunities for an Electronic Technician Infrastructure Maintenance to join our Facilities team in Puyallup and Auburn, Washington.

Join our team as an Electronic Technician Infrastructure Maintenance, where you will diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in various systems and components, utilizing precision measuring instruments and advanced test equipment to verify accuracy. Your ability to interpret schematics and technical documents will guide you in performing maintenance and repairs, while ensuring proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed. You will collaborate with operators, vendors, and engineers to gather vital information and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Obtain work assignments from the Daily Dispatch List (DDL), job board, or dispatcher based on schedule and priority.

  • Review schematics, logic ladders, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements for assigned jobs.

  • Diagnose malfunctions in systems and components, determining the necessary corrective actions to restore optimal operation.

  • Operate and adjust equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance, including electronic control devices and sensors.

  • Use precision measuring instruments and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and meters, to verify the accuracy of electronic components and systems.

  • Lock out, tag out, and try out equipment to ensure safety during maintenance activities.

  • Disassemble and reassemble electronic components or subsystems for inspection and repairs as needed.

  • Install, crimp, terminate, and solder wires, modifying parts as required for proper functionality.

  • Conduct follow-up tests to ensure that repairs have resolved issues and confer with operators regarding machine performance.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including reports on repairs and system performance.

  • Collaborate with operators, vendors, and engineers to gather information on system operations and maintenance history.

  • Monitor and maintain equipment records, logs, and updates, preparing reports and schedules as necessary.

  • Use various mechanical lifts to access work areas safely and efficiently.

  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

  • Maintain personal certifications and consult with supervisors or team leaders when assistance is needed or when issues arise.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 3+ years of electronic/electrical working experience in any of the following fields: machine tool maintenance, industrial electronic and/or electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance

  • Ability to complete Fall Protection Training

  • 3+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems

  • Current valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience of working with VFDs

  • 1+ years experience working with PLCs

  • Must be willing and able to work in confined spaces

  • Experience within the Environment, Health and Safety disciplines (electrical safety, fall protection,  hazardous energy, machine guarding, radiation, cranes and ergonomics)

  • 1+ year of experience maintaining Life Safety, Fire and Sprinkler and/or Security Systems

Typical Education & Experience:

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
