Engine Technician (Vane Ring Inspection)

Job Description:

HQ Aero is currently recruiting for an ENGINE TECHNICIAN in BRIDGEPORT, WV

Responsibilities:
As an Engine Technician, you will be required to:

Check parts for conformance to latest standards and for proper identification spanings. Note deviations from specified tolerances and requirements.
Inspect, test, and repair a variety of engine components.
Prepare inspection records noting condition of parts and determine actual class of vanes and rework if required to class needed for particular engine.
Report abnormal conditions or recurring failure of parts to meet inspection requirements to engineering.
Plan sequence of operations for rework and repair and select best suited tooling.
Operate computer and printer to input and retrieve information required to perform job duties.
Supply technical guidance and assist others to overcome technical difficulties.
Perform required maintenance duties to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Perform silicone injection and/or epoxy repairs to required parts.
Maintain clean climate-controlled room.
Order required supplies and keep track of expiration dates and keeps records of mixes.
Work with engineering in development of new repair processes.
Comply with all company work rules, follow safe work practices and procedures established to protect the environment, and report to supervisor all unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and conditions which impact or have the potential to impact the environment.
Responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with RTXs Code of Ethics, including the obligation to report actual and suspected violations of the code.
Perform all other related duties as required or assigned.
Refer difficulties to supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:

2+ years specialized training in maintenance, assembly or test of gas turbine engines or similar aircraft systems.
Prior experience working on Turbofan engines.
Knowledge of aircraft engine assembly procedures including fits and tolerances, use of precision measuring instruments and gauges, hand tools, special assembly equipment and the ability to work from complicated drawings and specifications.
Local Candidates Preferred.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Standard Aviation Tool Kit.
Criminal Background Check & Compliant to FAA Drug and Alcohol screening checks are mandatory.

Essential Job Functions

Use various hand tools, precision measuring equipment, special tooling, and gauges.
Coordinate parts, consumables, and non-product material movements.
Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance. Must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task.
Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, Position requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.
Work Environment : Aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment.
