Job Description:

About North Wind Aviation

North Wind Aviation, LLC is a Veteran-Owned Small Business with over 13 years of proven excellence in aerial operations throughout Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho.
We provide aerial application, powerline support, lifting, firefighting, and utility services under FAA Part 133, 135, and 137 certificates. Our team supports clients such as the U.S. Forest Service, WSDOT, Chelan County PUD, Olympic Electric, and more.

At North Wind, we take pride in our commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and integrity — and we’re looking for a skilled mechanic who shares those values.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Helicopter Mechanic (A&P) to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working both in the hangar and in the field.
You’ll maintain and repair a diverse fleet that includes Bell 206 Jet and Long Rangers, MD-500, and UH-1H aircraft, supporting operations across the Pacific Northwest.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Work on mission-critical aircraft serving agriculture, forestry, fire, and utility operations.
  • Be part of a veteran-owned and managed team that values your skill and craftsmanship.
  • Live and work in some of the most beautiful areas of the Pacific Northwest — from the lakes of Chelan to the orchards of Zillah and the forests of Oregon.
  • Experience a company culture built on trust, safety, and pride in doing things right.
Job Requirements:

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with Bell 206, MD-500, or UH-1H helicopters — preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, high-performing team
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aircraft documentation
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for field maintenance and seasonal operations
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and address technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Frequently be required to stand, walk, continually utilize hand, and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, or crawl, occasionally from heights in precarious places.
  • Frequently lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to weather conditions outside such as extreme heat or cold.
