Job Title: Helicopter Mechanic
Job DescriptionThis role focuses on maintaining, inspecting, and repairing civilian helicopters in a professional repair station environment. You will perform heavy maintenance and detailed inspections on multiple aircraft models, using your technical expertise to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with aviation standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on civilian helicopters, including heavy maintenance tasks.
- Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems, structures, and components in accordance with applicable regulations and maintenance manuals.
- Interpret and read schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation to diagnose issues and perform accurate repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and structural problems on rotary-wing aircraft and implement effective repair solutions.
- Work on various helicopter models, potentially including Agusta, Agustawestland, Bell, Eurocopter, Airbus, and Sikorsky platforms.
- Carry out repairs on airframe and powerplant systems, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Use personal tools and appropriate shop equipment to complete maintenance and inspection tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with A&P mechanics, avionics technicians, sheet metal mechanics, and composites technicians in a Part 145 repair station environment.
- Document all maintenance and inspection activities clearly and accurately in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working in the hangar and around operational aircraft.
Essential Skills- At least 4 years of hands-on helicopter maintenance experience.
- Strong ability to interpret and read schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Proven experience performing detailed inspections and heavy maintenance on helicopters.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with experience in aircraft repair and rotary-wing maintenance.
- Capability to perform maintenance and repairs on turbine-powered helicopters.
- Proficiency in airframe and powerplant maintenance practices.
- Ownership and regular use of a complete set of personal tools suitable for helicopter maintenance work.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work effectively in a Part 145 repair station environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license preferred but not required.
- Experience with any model of civilian helicopter is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with helicopter manufacturers such as Agusta, Agustawestland, Bell, Eurocopter, Airbus, and Sikorsky.
- Experience working alongside multidisciplinary aviation teams, including avionics, sheet metal, and composites technicians.
- Comfort working in a small hangar setting with multiple aircraft present.

Work Environment

You will handle multiple aircraft and helicopter models in a hands-on, shop-based setting, using your own tools along with station equipment. The role operates on a first-shift schedule in a professional maintenance environment focused on safety, quality, and efficient aircraft turnaround.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bensalem, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
