Job Description:

Morson Talent are working closely with a leading aerospace and defence composite business looking for experienced inspectors to join our team. The business is growing at a rapid rate, have recently won some major aerospace & defence contracts and have investment pouring in from their new owners

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the customer receives a high-quality product in line with process and product specification. The role will provide inspection support at all stages of the manufacturing process, including goods in, and final inspection ready for dispatch. The role will also including undertaking various testing procedures (in line with health and safety requirements) to confirm the integrity of the product and providing expert advice and guidance in respect of quality documentation, procedures and processes. Our ideal candidate has some experience with composite materials, incl prepeg carbon fibre, GRP etc

Accountability:

  • The role is accountable for the integrity of products delivered to customers.
  • For working in and creating a safe environment and adhering to all health and safety requirements.
  • For ensuring that appropriate techniques and procedures are applied.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety - to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and in line with instructions
  • Quality - to conduct inspection and test activities to the required specification and to complete accurately and timely all associated documentation.
  • Cost - to organise activities and to develop policies or procedures in ways which maximise productivity.
  • Delivery - to work in accordance to deadlines and change priorities to suit business needs.
  • People - to work in accordance with company values and support and develop colleagues when needed
  • Continuous Improvement - to maintain and further develop skillset and knowledge to suggest and investigate opportunities for improvement and be adaptable to change.

Tasks:

  • Visual and dimensional inspection
  • To undertake a variety of inspection activities and processes dependant on the business requirements.
  • To assist with any new inspection or measurement methodology and processes.
  • To mentor and train colleagues in the attainment of skills via on the job training or off site if necessary.
  • To have technical knowledge of and able to competently perform test house and technical measurement activities including CMM and Farrow arm.
  • To complete job cards and other required documentation accurately and timely and in line with process.
  • To communicate effectively with other departments to share any issues and contribute to the smooth running of production.
  • To support and liaise with other departments to resolve any quality control issues and suggest improvements where possible.
  • To contribute to Continuous Improvement activities and undertaken at Advanced Composites.
  • To support management team and any regulatory bodies in obtaining any identified accreditation and maintaining compliance.

Education:

  • Good standard of education
  • Time served apprenticeship is ideal but not essential

Experience:

  • Experienced in a process driven production environment
  • Experienced working with composites
  • Experienced in working in manufacturing environment ideally composite
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experienced working in a team.
