Job Title: Intern - Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Honeywell, in Edinburgh you will be an integral part of our space team, contributing to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for RF, satellite communication, and quantum systems.
This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months starting from summer 2026 and is for candidates graduating in 2028.

Key responsibilities:
You will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience with an assigned buddy, to be trained to achieve the following:
- Impact the development of cutting-edge aerospace technologies, ensuring the reliability and performance of our mechanical systems in critical applications
- Perform mechanical analysis using ANSYS to verify system integrity under thermal and vibration loading.
- Develop & maintain designs for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, using Creo 3D CAD & Honeywell’s Teamcenter PLM Database
- Design drafting & documentation to clearly communicate technical information.
- Mechanical inspection & testing of devices in a clean-room environment
Key skills and qualifications:
- Currently studying a sandwich course degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 2028
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies, (this can be from your studies hobbies or a work placements)
- Proficiency in a CAD software and simulation tools
- Candidates must be able to commute with ease to our Edinburgh site
