Working in our newly completed, state-of-the-art facility, the Lead Gulfstream Mechanic will oversee and work alongside a team of A&P Mechanics, devoted to performing heavy maintenance on various models of Gulfstream aircraft. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that all assigned projects are completed on time, to the highest quality standards, and in full compliance with FAA regulations.
About Us:
Our Augusta, GA MRO facility supports an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Gulfstream, Hawker, Challenger, Learjet, Falcon, and Embraer. With a significant 80,500 sq ft expansion opening in late August 2025, we’re doubling our footprint at AGS. Our facility specializes in Business Aviation, focusing on 22 models of aircraft on the Airframe side while our Engine Shop performs comprehensive overhauls on Honeywell HTF7000 and TFE731 engines, APUs, and performs diagnostics in our state-of-the-art Test Cells.
What to Expect in This Role:
- Lead a team of A&P Mechanics in performing heavy maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repairs on Gulfstream aircraft, including but not limited to the G450 and G550.
- Assign and coordinate daily work based on project timelines and technician skill sets.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to less experienced mechanics.
- Perform hands-on maintenance alongside the team to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance with Gulfstream maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and FAA regulations.
- Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with other departments to meet project goals.
- Conduct quality checks and final inspections prior to aircraft release.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers and internal teams regarding project status.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic performing heavy maintenance on Gulfstream aircraft.
- Prior leadership experience in coordinating or supervising other technicians.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certifications.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience performing heavy maintenance on Gulfstream aircraft.
- Previous experience in an MRO or OEM Service Center environment.
- Gulfstream factory training or equivalent type-specific training.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and leadership.
