We are hiring for a Repair Technician V, Lead Technician to perform repair and overhaul (preventative) maintenance on our product line. This position is located in our Miramar, FL MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility. Selected candidates are expected to perform a variety of tasks, including providing technical/operational support to the production and planning cells as well as performing repair and overhaul operations per business requirements, serving as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.Position Responsibilities (Some but not limited to other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):Actively participate in CORE continuous improvement and environmental, health and safety activitiesPerforming repair and overhaul on products as per customer specificationsSupporting personnel technical training needs as identified by the cell Business Unit LeaderTraining employees on product line within cellOverseeing and monitoring work performed by training employeesServing as a resource to others in the resolution of solving complex problems and issues, only referring the most complex issues to higher levelsAnswering all technical support questions to production staff and Value Stream ManagerCoordinating and prioritizing production control activity requirements to meet production goalsComplying with all Collins Aerospace policies, procedures, regulations, and any other required trainings involving Environmental Health and Safety ( EH&S), ethics, continuous improvement (ACE), and qualitySupporting Value Stream Manager with all initiatives to achieve operational effectiveness such as : turn-around time, quality, customer service, EH&S, Human ResourcesCoordinating manpower requirements within the shop to meet all necessary production needsInteracting with customers and auditorsLeading, co-leading and implementing projects relating to business objectivesUtilizing scheduler to meet estimated product ship datesEnsuring conformance to established procedures and product quality levelsRelying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish business goalsProviding orientation and product line trainings to employees within shop cellSupporting Value Stream Manager to achieve company financial goalsEH&S Key

Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 5 years of technician experience in the aviation industry; unsupervised assembly and disassemblyMust be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred Skills and Qualifications: AA/AS degreeA&P LicenseRepair Station Certificate per 14 CFR part 65Military Technical education / TrainingJourneyman License Experience with troubleshooting; ability to measure gauges and test equipmentExperience with training and guiding employees on a variety of product lines in the shopAbility to lead, co-lead, and implement projectsPhysical Requirements: Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning. Bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching forward, lifting (refer to EH&S Safety Rules), carrying, pushing/ pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing.
