Job Description:
We are hiring for a Repair Technician V, Lead Technician to perform repair and overhaul (preventative) maintenance on our product line. This position is located in our Miramar, FL MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility. Selected candidates are expected to perform a variety of tasks, including providing technical/operational support to the production and planning cells as well as performing repair and overhaul operations per business requirements, serving as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.Position Responsibilities (Some but not limited to other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):
  • Actively participate in CORE continuous improvement and environmental, health and safety activities
  • Performing repair and overhaul on products as per customer specifications
  • Supporting personnel technical training needs as identified by the cell Business Unit Leader
  • Training employees on product line within cell
  • Overseeing and monitoring work performed by training employees
  • Serving as a resource to others in the resolution of solving complex problems and issues, only referring the most complex issues to higher levels
  • Answering all technical support questions to production staff and Value Stream Manager
  • Coordinating and prioritizing production control activity requirements to meet production goals
  • Complying with all Collins Aerospace policies, procedures, regulations, and any other required trainings involving Environmental Health and Safety ( EH&S), ethics, continuous improvement (ACE), and quality
  • Supporting Value Stream Manager with all initiatives to achieve operational effectiveness such as : turn-around time, quality, customer service, EH&S, Human Resources
  • Coordinating manpower requirements within the shop to meet all necessary production needs
  • Interacting with customers and auditors
  • Leading, co-leading and implementing projects relating to business objectives
  • Utilizing scheduler to meet estimated product ship dates
  • Ensuring conformance  to established procedures and product quality levels
  • Relying on extensive experience and judgment  to plan and accomplish business goals
  • Providing orientation and product line trainings to employees within shop cell
  • Supporting Value Stream Manager to achieve company financial goals

    Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support site’s EH&S program
  • Comply with EH&S  cardinal rules
  • Comply with EH&S policies and PPE requirements
  • Attend all required training
  • Report near misses and unsafe acts

  • Job Requirements:
    Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of technician experience in the aviation industry; unsupervised assembly and disassembly
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • AA/AS degree
  • A&P License
  • Repair Station Certificate per 14 CFR part 65
  • Military Technical education / Training
  • Journeyman License  
  • Experience with troubleshooting; ability to measure gauges and test equipment
  • Experience with training and guiding employees on a variety of product lines in the shop
  • Ability to lead, co-lead, and implement projects
  • Physical Requirements: Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning.
