Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, remove, and install aircraft egress systems, including ejection seats, Cartridge Actuated Devices (CADs), shoulder harnesses, and lap belts
Perform maintenance on oxygen systems, including valves, converters, regulators, and gauges
Maintain environmental and life support systems such as air conditioning, cockpit heating, ventilation, pressurization, and fire extinguishing systems
Conduct daily, pre-flight, post-flight, and scheduled inspections in compliance with operational checklists
Support flight line operations: launch, recovery, turnaround, and plane captain duties
Assemble, disassemble, install, or modify aircraft systems and components
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical subsystems
Perform validation/verification testing of repaired or replaced systems/components
Document maintenance actions, inspection results, and repairs for compliance with regulatory and contract requirements
Inspect components for flight worthiness and certify airworthiness after repairs or modifications
Support and oversee training and oversight of junior personnel
Adhere strictly to safety, quality, and compliance standards across all operations
Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
High School diploma or GED (vocational school or Associate degree preferred)
4+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience working with aircraft ejection systems
Proficient in removal, installation, inspection, and rigging of aircraft systems and components
Must be able to work onsite 100 at NAS JRB New Orleans; occasional travel to Stennis Facility may be required
