Role Summary
* Proficient in system troubleshooting, component replacement, assembly/disassembly, and performing flight operation support, including daily, pre/post-flight, and turnaround inspections. Experienced in documenting maintenance actions, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing training, and working safely under variable shifts and outdoor conditions. Education & Job Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent
* Typically 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate+2 years of related work, Bachelor, etc.).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
* Willing to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
* Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
* Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes Preferred Skills
* Fighter Avionics/Electrical modification experience
* F/A-18 (AT/AE) Qualifications
* Prior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements is preferred Job Duties/Functions
* Technician maintains the following: Aircraft avionics/electrical and associated equipment
* Remove and install avionics/electrical and related components and gear
* Perform daily, pre- and post-flight, and periodic aircraft inspections.
* Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch, and recovery, including plane captain activities
* Assembles, disassembles, and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
* Oversees assembly, disassembly, or overhaul.
* Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
* Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
* Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
* Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results).
* Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight-worthiness requirements.
* Oversees training.
* Works under general direction.
* Prioritizes quality, product, and people safety
