Job Description:

Primary Responsibility:

The duties and responsibilities consist of and include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • This position reports directly to the Director of Quality Control. The Inspector shall have an appropriate airmen certificate.
  • Perform required inspections on aircraft, parts and materials to ensure all maintenance performed conforms to Kalitta Charters II standards and is accomplished within the guidelines of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Update and monitor all Airworthiness Directives and all tracked items as required.
  • Review all completed aircraft flight log pages and inspection packages for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify that maintenance on Airframe and Powerplants are completed in accordance with applicable Maintenance Manuals; FAR’s and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Audit of work documentation generated during daily maintenance, major checks, repairs, or modifications to ensure accuracy and completeness to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAR requirements.
  • Perform inspection functions during inspections, overhauls, engine changes, or other major maintenance being conducted by the Company or one of its contracted vendors not qualified to perform inspections and perform RII functions as qualified
  • Perform other Quality Control duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Control
Job Requirements:

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses & Document Requirements:

  • A valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • A&P Certificate

Experience & Professional Skills:

  • Experience on large aircraft such as B737, B-727; or equivalent
  • Must have some working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations part 21, 25, 43, 91, 119, and 121
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Work Environment & Culture Skills:

  • Basic MS Office knowledge, computer software & internet proficiency
  • Candidate must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
  • Candidate must be able to understand, read and write English
  • Candidate should be motivated, resourceful, energetic, organized and able to manage and be managed
  • Candidate must be reliable, punctual and flexible

Location Requirements:

  • Operation based in Ypsilanti, MI at Willow Run Airport (YIP)
  • There is no ability to work from home
  • There will be no relocation package for this position

Shift Requirements:

  • First Shift - Day, Second Shift – Afternoon
  • Must be available full-time

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Compensation:

  • Competitive Salary established pay scale including yearly increases and bonuses
