Job Description:
This position skill sets are based on an aviation background, GD&T Principles and Practices and ISO 9001 & AS9100/9102 Quality Management Systems First Article Inspection. This position ensures product conformity to establish requirements by evaluating product to customer and/or Engineering drawings, specifications and related documents. This position conducts receiving, in-process and final product inspections, and documents results in various reports/logs in the Quality Management System. This position may also interface with Customers, Suppliers and/or Regulatory agencies as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspection, as well as in-process and Final inspections of parts, and assemblies in accordance with applicable Engineering criteria, documents, drawings and workmanship standards 
  • Perform inspections using Precision Measurement equipment/devices 
  • Perform functional testing of assembly units
  • Review blue prints, drawings, specifications, customer quality clauses and document requirements for Inspection Test Plans
  • Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner 
  • Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action 
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures, and complying with all applicable regulations.
  • Ensure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions 
  • Assists Engineering and Operations in the investigation of non-conformities 
  • Initiate MRB process for nonconforming product or materials
  • Perform other duties as required 
Job Requirements:
 
Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or higher desired) 
  • 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality environment or 3+ years in a regulated industry or aerospace quality environment 
  • Minimum of (2) years of inspection experience applying GD&T Principles and Practices 
  • Meticulous attention to details both in documentation and reporting of results 
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality management systems and working knowledge of First Article Inspection requirements 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data (drawings, blueprints, GD&T) 
  • Extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gags, bore gauges, dial indicators, etc. 
  • Good manual dexterity and adept in use of precision measuring tools 
  • Must possess appropriate mathematical and analytical skills to determine acceptability of product(s) based on established criteria 
  • General mechanical aptitude 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, specifically Word, Excel and Power Point 
  • Must have good written English and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
