Job Description:

Primary Responsibility:

The Ride on Mechanic travels with an aircraft and is responsible for providing total line maintenance and technical support for the aircraft to which they are assigned while reporting to Maintenance Control.

The duties and responsibilities consist of and include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct Terminating Service maintenance checks on B727 and Service checks on B737 aircraft
  • Maintain contact with Maintenance Control regarding the aircraft condition
  • Accomplish all required servicing of the aircraft
  • Troubleshoot and repair defects and complete all return to service paperwork as well as signing for work accomplished and Airworthiness Releases
  • Forward copies of repair information to Maintenance Control as work is completed. Send original paperwork to Aircraft Records on a daily basis
  • Maintain current inventory of flyaway kits, including serviceable parts, unserviceable parts, shelf life items and tools. Coordinate the return of parts
  • Perform other duties as directed by Maintenance Control or the Director of Maintenance
  • All log pages and paperwork will be faxed to KYIP and reviewed by K2 Maintenance Control prior to next flight
Job Requirements:

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses & Document Requirements:

  • A valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • A&P Certificate

Experience & Professional Skills:

  • Two years of experience working on B-727 and B-737 aircraft preferred
  • Diversified experience in maintenance on large fixed wing aircraft

Work Environment & Culture Skills:

  • Basic MS Office knowledge, computer software & internet proficiency
  • Candidate must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
  • Candidate must be able to understand, read and write English
  • Candidate should be motivated, resourceful, energetic, organized and able to manage and be managed
  • Candidate must be reliable, punctual and flexible
  • Candidate must be able to multi-task, respect and maintain confidentiality
  • Candidate must be ethical, trustworthy with sensitive information

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
  • Moderate to heavy lifting is required (up to 70lbs)
  • Must be able to climb and use a ladder, work stands, platforms and lift equipment
  • Work within a confined workspace(s)

Location Requirements:

  • Operation based in Ypsilanti, MI at Willow Run Airport (YIP)
  • There is no ability to work from home
  • There will be no relocation package for this position

Shift Requirements:

  • Two weeks on, two weeks off
  • Must be available full-time and work overtime when required

 Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Compensation:

  • Competitive Salary established pay scale including yearly increases and bonuses
  • $60,000+ per year, based on education and/or experience
