SUMMARY

Perform all tasks required to ensure efficient production and workflow on the manufacturing floor, while achieving the highest quality work possible, under minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow policies and procedures as they relate to the fabrication and handling of parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing specifications to determine required material for assembly and special parts.
  • Use all types of measuring equipment to manufacture and check detail parts.
  • Prepare Material Requisitions for all materials used to fabricate details.
  • Use machines and hand tools to cut, form, roll, drill, spot weld, brake, and prepare parts for inspection.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Assure all paperwork requirements are kept current with job progress.
  • Report promptly to supervisors/lead any problems associated with carrying out work assignments.
  • Prepare and submit all required documentation to Quality Control following completion of project.
  • Document actions by completing all required production, quality, and time keeping forms.
  • Report any un-airworthy items to supervisors.
  • Provide training and guidance for subordinates when needed.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • None.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Requires High School education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
  • 5 + years of related shop experience or trade school graduation.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering prints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Solid understanding in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, depth micrometers, dial calipers, radius and height gages, tape measures, indicators, and precision protractors and rulers.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical Sheet metal concepts.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical sheet metal situations.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task prioritize, and plan work.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read, write, and understand the English language.
