Position Overview
The Shift Coordinator, Base Maintenance - AOH Shops is responsible for coordinating all AOH activities performed at Honolulu Main Base station.  Coordinates the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable Base and Line aircraft.  Promotes a safety conscious work force to ensure the wellbeing of our employees.  Collaborates with other departments in an effort to continuously improve our performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coordinating all AOH Shop activities performed in Honolulu
  • Ensures all work performed is in accordance with HAL Policies and Procedures and Federal regulatory requirements.  This includes and is not limited to:
    • OEM Approved Technical Manuals (AMM, SRM, CMM, etc.)
    • HAL Approved Manuals (GMM, MOPM, SPM, SPPM, GSM, JPM, etc.)
    • Government regulations (FAA, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Ensure all work performed on non-HAL aircraft/equipment is in accordance with the owning company’s policies and procedures and within the scope of the established contract
  • Maintains situational awareness throughout the daily operation to ensure a safe operation while working to achieve our OTP goals.  This includes and is not limited to:
    • Monitoring communications between the MOC, Production Control, Base and Line Maintenance
    • Coordinating with Leads on any adjustments needed based on operational changes
    • Disseminating information accurately to AOH Shops and Base Management
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Planning (HA/DL), Base Management on daily/long range work packages and unscheduled maintenance events.  This includes and is not limited to:
    • Build work packages/folders
    • Create work schedules and update as required
    • Communicate daily plan during crew briefs
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Engineering, Base/Shop Maintenance and MOC to find best possible resolution to return AOS/AOG aircraft back into service in a safe and timely manner
  • Work with Base/Shop Maintenance Managers to coordinate and provide/request support staff and technical assistance when required
  • Assist Manager with investigations and resolutions to:
    • M&E Safety related issues
    • QA audit findings and CARs
  • Review completed documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.  This includes and is not limited to:
    • Log pages and task cards
    • TRAX entries and deferral updates
  • Provide information to Base Management to ensure an accurate turnover is provided to the oncoming shift team to facilitate a fluid work flow between shifts
  • Ensure that daily work schedule includes:
    • Housekeeping assignments
    • Equipment servicing assignments
  • Will complete administrative tasks required.  This includes and is not limited to:
    • Ultipro – Daily timesheets, vacation requests
    • Budget – OT Report updates
    • Attendance File updates
  • Responsible to ensure all Mechanic required training is current
  • Ensure that Leads Mechanics are aligned with our departmental vision, mission and goals
  • Will collaborate with Base Team members on the mission of continuous improvement.  This includes and is not limited to:
    • SOP development and implementation
    • Process review and refinement
    • Event review and lessons learned
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
  • 2 years Aviation Maintenance or 4 years of coordination or project management experience
  • Strong analytical and operational business skills
  • Able to obtain an AOA badge
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
  • ATR42/72, B717, B787, A321, and A330 experience preferred
  • Airframe and Power Plant License is preferred, but not required.  However, advancement within this organizational flow will require an FAA Airframe and Power Plant License
  • TRAX experience
  • Leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a FAR part 121 and/or 135 operation
  • Experience with building and maintaining a budget
  • College Degree
  • Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
