POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a wide variety of complex trouble shooting and general maintenance; millwright duties including welding, machining, installing, dismantling, assembling, etc.; maintain complicated plant mechanical and structural equipment to eliminate down time and maintain an uninterrupted flow of production. Works from complicated blueprints, work orders, manufacturers manuals, schematics, and written /verbal instructions. Installs machinery, equipment, and various systems in industrial establishment; uses the following tools, equipment, and materials: hand tools, ladders, material moving equipment, measuring instruments, hoists, cranes, shears, drills, presses, lubricants, solvents, fasteners, component parts and related tools, equipment, supplies, and materials. Works with little or no directions from supervisor or lead person.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Possess a strong sense of urgency.

Receive/complete work assignments, pertinent paperwork and enter respans in EAM system.

Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, and be able to fully explain what the issue is and what is needed to correct.

Aligns, adjusts dimensions and tolerances, trouble shoots mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions, using blueprints, and schematics

Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed and materials used.

Establish or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.

Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.

Prepare complex prints to indicate new/modified systems.

Must have a sound understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical systems and their related components

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists and train lesser experienced employees in solving work problems.

Perform scheduled maintenance.

Maintain all necessary records, files, and reports.

Must have willingness to see project from start to finish; and do whatever it takes to get the job done

Conduct work in a clean, neat, and professional manner.

Performs other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, may be required to train and assist other employees.

Minimum Position Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

8-10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings

Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted

Excellent problem-solving skills

Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Related trade and safety certifications are a plus

Individual must be certifiable for a motorized lifts / forklift within the first 90 days of employment.

Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions need to be controlled. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to both office and manufacturing environments. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity.

Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives.

Travel and overtime are required when necessary.
