STS Aviation Services is hiring Aircraft Structures Technicians to join our team in the Middle East. This contractor role is ideal for experienced professionals who can contribute immediately to complex structural projects and thrive in a high-performance environment.
Position Summary
As an Aircraft Structures Technician, you will perform advanced modifications, repairs, and manufacturing of structural components on commercial and military aircraft. This position requires proven expertise in structural repair, composite work, and the ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Follow Service Bulletins, AMM, SRM, and other engineering documentation to perform structural modifications
- Restore or repair defects using aircraft fastening hardware, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, composites, adhesives, chemicals, paints, and textiles
- Manufacture and install structural components for prototype projects
- Fabricate original equipment, components, or replacement items from base metals using tools such as engine lathes and milling machines
- Repair and fabricate structures using composites, fibreglass, textiles, leather, plastics, and synthetic materials
- Remove major aircraft structural sections while stress jacked
- Ensure compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations
- Maintain a FOD-free work area and prepare all materials, parts, tools, and documentation before each shift
- Return unused serviceable and unserviceable items to stores with proper labelling
- Demonstrate professionalism in customer interactions
- Stay current with Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and relevant technical updates
- Participate in training to enhance effectiveness and technical contribution
Qualifications
- Completion of a formal aircraft apprenticeship or equivalent training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
- Recent commercial and/or military aircraft structural experience required
- Proven expertise in structural repair, modification, and production environments
- Experience implementing and carrying out aircraft component modifications
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting manufacturer drawings and SRMs
- Must meet qualifying criteria for all required security clearances
- Flexible and adaptable to meet changing work requirements in dynamic environments
