Job Description:
The aircraft structures technician is responsible for aircraft structural repairs, modifications, component manufacturing as related to modifications and repairs to aircraft sub-assemblies.
 
Duties and responsibilities
·Perform aircraft structural repairs and modifications
·Assist sheet-metal technicians with technical problems or issues
·Have knowledge and be able to identify parts and materials to be used for repairs or modifications
·Be able to use precise measuring tools and equipment
·Be familiar with all aircraft metal types
·Be able to work with sheet-metal equipment
·Be able to work from drawings, prints or aircraft SRM’s
·Be able to build sub-assemblies from prints
·Have a working knowledge of how and when to substitute hardware types
·Have a working knowledge to address corrosion and corrosion repairs
·Have a working knowledge of FAA form 337 and STC’s used for aircraft modifications
·Initiate requisitions for parts and material
·Work with all aircraft hardware and know how to use the specific tooling to install the hardware
·Answer and interact with customer on Non-Routine repairs or modifications
·Perform exact lay-outs of sub-assemblies and structural repairs
·Maintain 5S hangar lay-out around working area
·Ensure company safety procedures are followed
·Train new sheet-metal technicians
·Be available for “on-call” or weekend duty
·Perform all other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Structures Lead
 
Job Requirements:
Three (3) years as an aircraft structural technician. Hold a valid FAA Airframe and Power Plant License or be eligible for an MRO sponsored Repairman’s Certificate. C-130 or transport category aircraft experience required.

·Be able to read, write and speak English fluently
·High School Diploma or GED
·Have working knowledge of Micro Soft Word and Outlook
·Draw repair schemes
·Work with mathematical formulas associated with repair schemes or modifications
·Use a calculator

Working conditions
Work in all climate conditions, in the hangar or on the ramp. Work in close or tight spaces. Work from man-lifts and scissors lift at heights up to 40’.
