Airways Aviation Center Located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota
You will lead a small team of technicians providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for a diverse fleet of general aviation (GA) aircraft, including single-engine Cessnas, Pipers, Kodiak, Lear, Beechcraft, and light twins. You are responsible for the safety of the shop, the quality of the work leaving the repair station, and building trust with local aircraft owners.
Key Responsibilities:
· Hands-on Maintenance: Perform and supervise 100-hour and Annual inspections, engine repairs, and structural fixes on a variety of piston, light turbine and jet aircraft.
· Customer Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for local pilots and aircraft owners. Provide clear cost estimates and explain complex repairs to non-technical customers.
· Compliance & Logs: Ensure all logbook entries are meticulous and comply with FAA regulations. Manage the shop’s FAA Part 145 certification.
· Shop Mentorship: Train junior A&P mechanics and apprentices, ensuring high standards of safety and workmanship in a small-team environment.
· Inventory & Tooling: Maintain a lean inventory of common parts (tires, oil, filters) and ensure all shop tools and calibrated equipment are up to date.
· Multi-Role Flexibility: Assist "Aircraft on Ground" (AOG) situations on the ramp.
