Responsibilities:
- Lead and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) (AS9100/ISO preferred)
- Manage all inspection activities including CMM programming, operation, and data analysis
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements (DoD, NASA, primes)
- Develop and implement quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans
- Oversee internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), and root cause analysis
- Interface with customers on quality issues, audits, and corrective actions
- Manage nonconformance reports (NCRs) and supplier quality issues
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve processes
- Train and mentor quality and inspection staff
- Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure manufacturability and quality standards
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a quality leadership role in manufacturing (aerospace or defense preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and inspection
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards
- Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Ability to manage audits and customer quality requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Certification (CQE, CQM, etc.)
- Experience working with prime contractors (Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.)
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and quality software
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
