We are seeking a skilled Calibration Technician to join our team and ensure the precision of our tools and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating calibration systems, participating in receiving inspections, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Update calibrations of standard tools including calipers, verniers, and dial indicators.
• Maintain the calibration recall system in compliance with ISO standards.
• Keep the work area clean and organized following the 5 Ss methodology.
• Participate and assist in receiving inspections by examining articles for defects and sorting them according to the extent of the defect as per the Quality Manual.
• Attach identification data to articles.
• Record factors leading to goods being returned and complete vendor return forms, forwarding them to purchasing within one hour.
• Contact suppliers for corrected or missing certifications when necessary.
• Unload and unpack incoming shipments.
• Maintain a daily customer return log for customer returns and distribute it to management.
• Maintain the Quality Receiving Log.

• High school diploma.
• Two years of calibration experience.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending instructions related to QA applications in aerospace products.
• Ability to interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Management to resolve product-related issues.
• Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Experience with calibration, calipers, and instrumentation.
• Mechanically inclined with proficiency in using hand tools and test equipment.
• Quality assurance experience.

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing shop environment with designated office areas for calibration tasks. The role requires frequent use of hands, and occasionally involves standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work schedule is the 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential for overtime.
