Bell is seeking a Site Lead / Chief Instructor Pilot to join our H-1 International Program team. The purpose of this position is to provide instruction utilizing classroom, simulation, and in-flight instruction on the aircraft systems, planning considerations, and in-flight operations of Bell H-1 aircraft. The Site Lead / Chief Instructor Pilot will manage the Bell in-country team and subcontractor instructor pilots in-country and oversee the day to day operations of Bell’s Training Services Program. Relocation and the ability to travel internationally is required for this role. 

 

Position Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the Chief Instructor Pilot and Bell Site Lead for the Czech Republic H-1 Training Services Program, including the management of subcontractor personnel

  • Provide on-site management of and coordination with Bell Maintenance Instructor Lead and Electronic Classrooms Lead to ensure the overall training schedules, milestones, learning objectives, staffing levels, and readiness rates are achieved throughout the Period of Performance

  • Oversee and conduct specialized training on Czech Republic H-1 aircraft, including classroom instruction, Flight Training Device (FTD) events, on-aircraft demonstrations, and/or on-aircraft task performance for each training program

  • Ensure compliance at all times with USG and Bell safety, quality, and security measures, as well as Czech-specific air base rules and procedures

  • Serve as a H-1 Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing inputs and oversight for the development of the Czech-specific schedule, courseware, Training Plan, and training program execution.

  • Assist with the preparation of training materials, course development and refinement, and training of subcontractor personnel for instruction of Czech courseware

  • Provide the Czech H-1 PM with the necessary materials, updates, action item support requested, and attend program meetings and conferences (as required)


Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:


  • AH-1Z or UH-1Y Pilot with the following USMC qualifications / designations:

    • HMLAT-303 Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor

    • Weapons Training Officer (WTO)

    • Instrument Flight Board Member

    • Terrain Flight Instructor

    • Night Systems Familiarization Instructor

    • Assistant NATOPS Instructor

    • Crew Resource Management Instructor / Facilitator

    • Functional Check Pilot

    • Section Lead



  • Minimum H-1 time: 1000-hrs

  • Training experience with USMC courses of instruction and USMC AH-1Z and UH-1Y Training and Readiness Manuals (T&R)

  • Current Naval Aviation Survival Training Programs (Aviation Physiology and Aviation Water Survival) qualification for H-1

  • Current Secret Clearance

  • Relocation to the Czech Republic is required for a minimum of 2 years

  • Must be willing to meet any COVID-19 vaccination requirements 

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Current and qualified AH-1Z or UH-1Y pilot

  • Experience with DCMA INST 8210.1C

  • 2years of project management experience or MBA/PMP

  • Night Systems Instructor / Weapons and Tactics Instructor

  • Experience in Courseware Development

  • Experience in Electronic Classrooms Development

  • International Experience

  • Foreign Language skills
