Role Summary
* In this role, you will assemble, align, and test laser and laser system components, subassemblies, and systems. You will follow work orders, production drawings, or verbal instructions to ensure proper assembly and testing. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to support the transition from development to full-rate production and optimize yield and efficiency. You will also mentor junior technicians and support troubleshooting and testing activities. Education & Job Requirements
* Must have U.S. citizenship.
* Must have a High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
* Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with optics in a manufacturing environment.
* Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience working with military-grade lasers in a production environment.
* Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience conducting testing, integration, and diagnostics on optics/lasers.
* Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical and mechanical assembly.
* Must have flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required to meet operational objectives. Preferred Skills
* You will have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* You will have a thorough understanding of all elements of laser resonator cavities. Job Duties / Functions
* You will be assembling laser components, subassemblies, and laser systems according to production drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
* You will be positioning and aligning parts in jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.
* You will be performing optical bonding, cleaning, and inspection of laser units.
* You will be conducting optical inspections using interferometric equipment.
* You will be recording, analyzing, and interpreting test data, and making recommendations to improve yield.
* You will be coordinating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to support low-cost producible designs and the transition from development to full-rate production.
* You will be mentoring and training junior-level technicians.
* You will be setting up and verifying optical, electronic, and environmental test equipment.
* You will be assembling and testing optical, mechanical, and electrical subassemblies.
* You will be building wiring harnesses, soldering, and performing PCB assembly of electrical and electro-optical subassemblies.
* You will be performing all other duties as assigned.
