Job Description:
Serves as a staff trainer for all matters concerning safety activities throughout the command. The staff officer is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating and supervising of all current and future command operations, directly supporting the Office of Program Management (Aviation) team to meet the Ministry of the National Guards operational requirements.


A. Duties/responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Aviation Training

  1. Provide executive level expertise and assistance to the Saudi Arabian National Guard General Officers and the operations staff supporting current and future operations within areas of aviation safety and training management.

  2. Manage the creation and implementation of aviation safety policy, regulations, training documents and procedural guides.

  3. Provide the Saudi Arabian National Guard General Officer staff with assessing, developing, coordinating and preparing current aviation safety related actions for decision and implementation.

  4. Manage the creation and implementation of safety and accident investigation curriculum.

  5. Mentor General Officers and staff on methods of implementing risk assessment and risk management during daily training and field training exercises.


    B. Independence: Reports to the Director of Aviation Training and coordinates directly with his OPM and MNG counterparts regarding his staff work assignments and priorities


    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Requirements:


A. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of college level courses, military training and job site experience may be substituted. Candidate must be a graduate of the U.S. Army Safety Course


B. Experience: Minimum of (6) years’ experience in aviation safety, environmental or corporate related fields. Former LTC, MAJ, CW4, or CW3 preferred. Former AVN Brigade ASO required, Aviation Center of Excellence or Combat Readiness Center (US Army Safety Center) preferred.


C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Knowledge of policies, principles, and procedures of military staff organization and operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to deal effectively with people in the interaction of staff. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Knowledge of pertinent KSA (Labor Law), SANG and OPM-SANG operational procedures concerning job related activities desired. Proficient in MS Office Professional software required (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook and Publisher). Proficient in Micro-Soft Project highly desired. Possess a valid drivers’ license.
