Job Description:
Prepares and paints aircraft according to manufacturer and customer specifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (5+ Years experience)
- Mask aircraft for protection from stripper application
- Strip aircraft with paint remover, sanding skin and seal aircraft, as required
- Wash and prepare aircraft using appropriate and approved cleaning solutions.
- Prepare surface and apply primer to aircraft for the sanding procedure.
- Sand aircraft skin smooth and apply top-coat application to aircraft per customer approved design.
- Paint stripes per customer approved designs and detail aircraft for customer delivery.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Paint Project Supervisor.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and experience in the basics of painting an aircraft.
Work that includes painting prep work (masking, sanding, stripping, polishing)
Experience operating basic air tools is required
Will assist other painters with basic duties as well as detailing aircraft for customer delivery
(5-10 years experience on aircrafts from the nose to the tail. Types of aircraft: Cessna, Falcon, Gulf Stream, 737, C40, Lear, Citation, Challenger, Bombardier, and BBJ.
