The responsibilities of the role of Chief Flight Instructor include, but are not limited to, all aspects of flight training processes, safety of operations, quality of training and compliance with Part 141 regulations. The Airplane Chief Flight Instructor is a key member of our flight school and leads our team of CFIs. The Chief Flight Instructor will take the lead on the FAA-approved Part 141 training courses taught to students

Job Requirements:
Required Skills/Experience:

· Must meet requirements of FAA Part §141.35
· Track record of safe airplane operations personally
· Track record of safe operational oversight of airplane operations
· Management experience to include team building, and delegation
· Schedule flexibility
· Well organized
· Ability to multi-task
· Possess critical thinking skills
· Problem solving and decision making skills
· High level of drive and energy
· Experience with Cessna 172 Aircraft and Piper Warriors
· Experience with Redbird Full motion flight simulator preferred but not required

For a course of training other than one leading to the issuance of a recreational or private pilot certificate or rating, or an instrument rating or a rating with instrument privileges, a chief instructor must have:

  • At least 2,000 hours as pilot in command; and

Flight training experience, acquired as either a certificated flight instructor or an instructor in a military pilot flight training program, or a combination thereof, consisting of at least -

  • 3 years and a total of 1,000 flight hours; or
  • 1,500 flight hours.
Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000
