COMMERCIAL PILOT, King Air Series Aircraft (full time salaried w/ benefits)
Job Summary
Responsible for safe, professional and precise execution of duties as “Pilot In Command” of aircraft conducting commercial passenger, cargo and air ambulance flights. Conforms and complies with organizational (air carrier), FAA and international flight procedures and regulations, ensuring aircraft is airworthy and in compliance with safety management and other organizational policies. Coordinate with air carrier dispatch and maintenance departments to ensure all organizational requirements are satisfied. Completes initial and periodic training required to maintain compliance with organizational, FAA and international regulations. Maintains currency of flight experience in accordance with both federal and local flight regulations. Responsible for passenger safety and comfort, including the cultivation of customer satisfaction and perception of professionalism and safety.
Essential Tasks/Functions:
- Start engines, operate controls, and pilot airplanes to transport passengers and/or cargo according to flight plans, regulations, and procedures.
- Monitor engine operation, fuel consumption, and functioning of aircraft systems during flights.
- Check aircraft prior to flights to ensure that the engines, controls, instruments, and other systems are functioning properly.
- Consider airport altitudes, outside temperatures, plane weights, wind speed and direction to calculate the speed needed to become airborne.
- Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and other information, using radio equipment.
- Obtain and review data such as load weights, fuel supplies, weather conditions, and flight schedules to determine flight plans and identify needed changes.
- Check baggage or cargo to ensure that it has been loaded correctly.
- Order changes in fuel supplies, loads, routes, or schedules to ensure safety of flights.
- Plan flights according to government and company regulations, using aeronautical charts and navigation instruments.
- Co-pilot aircraft or perform captain's duties as required.
- Coordinate flight activities with ground crews and air traffic control and inform crew members of flight and test procedures.
- Write specified information in flight records, such as flight times, altitudes flown, and fuel consumption.
- Supervise other crew members, as required.
- Perform minor aircraft maintenance and repair work or arrange for major maintenance.
- Comply with requirements in General Operating Manual, Training Manual and other organizational policies.
- Comply with HAZMAT, Air Ambulance and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Drug, hazard reporting and safety programs as required, including random testing.
- Inform crew, passengers, maintenance department, and other pertinent personnel of all changes to itineraries prior to, or during the course of flight.
- Provide excellent customer service and meticulous attention to detail and punctuality.
- Comply with internal policies and requirements to ensure standardization and conformity of actions and files.
