Job Description:
Functions as Lead
Instructor for Flight Operations courses under the direction of the Aviation
Institute Senior Training Manager. Responsible for performing duties as a
Flight Operations Instructor, conducting academic instruction and hands-on
performance training and evaluations to ensure student proficiency and
adherence to academic standards. Responsible for maintaining Individual
Gradebook Folders.
A. Duties/Responsibilities:
Train all functions, activities, and
operational procedures related to airfield operations.
Train inspection of airfield for
compliance with applicable directives, areas requiring repair or maintenance,
and potential situations or problems affecting safe flight operations.
Train procedures for control of
vehicles and pedestrians on the airfield, aircraft parking, and proper
positioning of aircraft with hazardous cargo.
Train the coordination, monitoring
and implementation of policy, procedures associated with rotary wing
operational and training requirements to include transient aircraft.
Train management of flight plans,
coordination with Air Traffic Control, hazard map, FLIP ordering and
distribution, clearances, proper use and operation of radios, and weather
support.
Train how to properly respond to and
manage airfield aircraft emergency and accidents/incidents.
Train how to properly inspect and/or
check condition of runways, taxiways, and aprons for flying safety hazards to
include compliance with airfield criteria, aircraft foreign object damage and
bird aircraft strike hazards.
Train all processes associated with
the documentation of shift events, traffic logs, and other necessary forms to
document coordination of airfield/aircraft activities.
Perform within the broad guidance of
duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods.
Report training status as required.
Other duties as assigned and or
directed by management.

broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of
methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the
execution of duties and responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead
Instructor of the Aviation Flight Operations courses of Instruction
Job Requirements:
Education Level:
High school graduate, Bachelor’s
degree preferred.
Graduate of US Army Flight Operations
Training course. Graduate of the US Army Instructor Trainer Course preferred.
B. Experience:
Ten (10) years’ experience in US Army
Flight Operations.
Military flight operations experience
within the last 3 years.
Experience with the use of a training
management system.
Flight operation management
experience required.
C. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and
Ability, Requirements:
Knowledge of training concepts,
administration, and logistics.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Suite to be used in the preparation of reports, charts, and other required
products.
Must be able to pass employment and
deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing,
background checks, etc.
4. Possess a valid drivers’ license.
