About this position
The Chief Pilot is responsible for the functioning of the flight crew department and that all flight crew will meet the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. The Chief Pilot will also insure that Air Care training and evaluations are vigorously applied and will maintain an update the training program as required to meet or exceed FAA requirements
 
What we’ll expect from you
• Distributes the Operations Manual or portions of it as required
• Recommends flight crew members for hiring, to the Director of Flight Operations, after evaluation of the candidate's qualifications.
• Reviews the degree of excellence and ability that each pilot has demonstrated in recommending them for Instructor positions and Check Airman positions.
• Maintains functional and administrative control over the Check Airman, Instructors, and pilots.
• Remains current on all FARs and ATC procedures, monitoring all revisions and reporting any pertinent changes, procedures and/or regulations to all flight personnel.
• Works closely with training captain to ensure training records and manuals are current.
• Assumes duties of Director of Flight Operations in his/her absence.
• Achieves key customer care, financial and/or operational outcomes as found in annual work plan.
• Leverages and adheres to systems and processes that drive accountability for customer care, financial and operational outcomes.
• Works effectively with team colleagues and other key partners to execute divisional and/or departmental initiatives and day-to-day operations.
• Effectively communicates with teammates and key partners.
• Develops talent within the team, including acquiring, engaging and retaining.
• Staffs, organizes and schedules the team to leverage maximum labor productivity.
• Understands, tracks and focuses the team on metrics that measure key business outcomes.
• Translates organization vision and strategies to team level, engages and empowers team members to meet customer’s needs in innovative ways, and achieves profitable growth.
License/Certification Accountabilities
• Airline Transport Pilot Preferred or Commercial pilot, licensed with helicopter and instrument rating
Compliance
• Recognizes and complies with legal regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
• Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in North Memorial’s Corporate Code of Conduct.
• Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Committee via established methods of communication.
• Protects patient/employee privacy and only accesses patient/employee related information as needed to perform job duties.

Here are our requirements:
 
Education:
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
 
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Must meet Chief Pilot experience requirements as outlined in FAR 119.71
• Have at least 3 years experience, within the past 6 years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under FAR part 135
• 3000 hours helicopter experience
• 1000 Hours PIC in rotorcraft
• 500 hours cross country flight experience
• 250 Hours of night flight experience
 
Licensure/Certification(s) Mandatory
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Pilot, Licensed with helicopter and instrument rating (helicopter)
• Airman certifications and ratings necessary to serve as pilot in command under FAR 135
• Valid state driver’s license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
 
Licensure/Certification(s) Preferred
• FAA CFI/CFII, Helicopter
• FAA ATP, Helicopter
